Unanimously, 15-inch MacBook Air reviews deem it the best consumer laptop with a 15-inch display
Wired wrote that the 15-inch larger screen on a consumer laptop by Apple is a welcome move because now users “finally do not have to pay an arm and a leg for a larger-screen Apple laptop”.
The publisher praised the bigger and brighter display in its slim and lightweight body, excellent sound system, and great performance for everyday tasks.
But complained about its higher price tag, lack of ports, and support for more than one external display.
The Verge commended the tech giant for giving consumers “exactly what was asked for” a larger screen in an affordable laptop that does not break the bank.
The spacious screen, and excellent trackpad, battery life, and performance were mentioned as its biggest plus points. However, it pointed out that limited ports, no possibility of upgrades, and its larger size are a few drawbacks.
TechCrunch’s 15-inch MacBook Air review deems the machine a “creature of sacrifice”. Although the larger screen offers more room for apps/ information and video streaming, it reduces its portability score, it does not offer FaceID, mini-LED display tech, and more ports at a $1299 premium price and it missed out on an advanced M3 chip. The 2023 MacBook Air is powered by the same M2 chip introduced in the 2022 MacBook Air (13-inch).
Dave2D said that the 25% bigger screen real estate of the 2023 MacBook Air than the 2022 MacBook Air is a significant upgrade. In addition to the screen size, the 2023 MacBook Air has an improved sound system that delivers higher-quality audio.
However, it is not as portable and compact as the 13-inch MacBook Air (2022).
MKBHD called the 15-inch MacBook Air the Tesla Y of the 13-inch MacBook Air and believed users will “punch” on the laptop in spite of the premium price because of the larger screen real estate because it delivers impressive Macbook Pro-like experience for almost half the price.
Andru Edwards said that the new 15-inch MacBook Air was the miniature version of the 16-inch MacBook Pro. The impressive display, typing, performance, and battery life experiences of the 2023 MacBook Air will make it a popular model amongst consumers because it can handle everyday tasks incredibly well, even video editing.
