Famous tech analyst Jon Prosser has shared new AirPods leaks. His latest tweet alleges that ‘AirPods Studio’ is the name of Apple’s new over-ear headphones. Previously, tech leakers knew of the product’s existence but were not sure if Apple would continue with AirPods branding for the over-ear wireless headphones, like its current wireless earbuds line-up.
Prosser also claims that new AirPods Studio, codenamed B515, would retail for $349. Although his latest tweet does not provide any other details, Prosser has previously shared expected release date and design features of the alleged over-ear headphones.
Looks like Apple is sticking with the “AirPods” branding for their new over-ear headphones.

AirPods Studio – Apple’s over-ear headphones
A few days ago, Prosser reported that new AirPods are ready for release, but he was not sure about the model. Previously, Prosser claimed that Apple will likely launch the alleged AirPods Studio during the company’s Apple’s online WWDC20 event. Recently, Prosser nailed the launch time of the new 2020 iPhone SE and 13 inch MacBook Pro, so he has a reliable track record now.
Interestingly, Apple’s recent product release pattern has us on our toes. Despite facing testing and production troubles due to COVID-19 pandemic, Apple released the new iPhone SE, iPad Pro 2020, iPad Pro Magic Keyboard, and 13 inch MacBook Pro. Continuing with this pattern of product launches, we would not be surprised if Apple launches new AirPods this month.
Heads up: There’s still an iMac and AirPods ready to ship. (Not sure which AirPods yet, only know codename)
Theoretically, since they’re ready, they could drop at any time.
I’ll let you know if/when I hear a date.
Let’s see if Apple can keep it a secret from me 👀🤫

AirPods Studio Design
The design of the new AirPods Studio headphones is expected to be similar to Beats Studio and other headphones available at that price range. Prosser believes that the design resemblance to Beats is not coincidental, but planned. According to his theory, Apple is gradually working on phasing out Beats products to create and capture a bigger market share for its AirPods line-up.
It has also been reported that the new AirPods Studio will have a modular design, which will allow users to replace components such as ear cups and head band, through some clever magnetic attachments. They will be available in two materials, a fitness-focused model with a lighter and breathable cover, and another leather like material for a high-end look. Due to the modular design, users will have the option to switch between both looks on the fly.
WWDC 2020 is just over a month away, and that is when Apple is rumored to be launching the new headphones.
