Last month, Feral Interactive announced that it would be releasing a port of Alien: Isolation for iPhone and iPad on December 16. The title is officially out now and TouchArcade is calling the popular horror survival game. “one of the best iOS conversions ever.”
The highly-anticipated action-adventure game ‘Alien: Isolation’ for mobile is out now
Launched in 2014 on PC and gaming consoles, the first-person survival horror game places an emphasis on stealth requiring the player to avoid and outsmart a single Alien creature with tools such as a motion tracker and flamethrower.
Based on the Alien film series, the game is set 15 years after the events of the original 1979 film Alien, and follows engineer Amanda Ripley, daughter of Alien protagonist Ellen Ripley, as she investigates the disappearance of her mother. As Amanda explores the Sevastopol space station, her investigation becomes deadly as she is hunted by the lethal xenomorph.
TouchArcade’s Mikhail Madnani says the game is a rare iOS port where he does not have anything bad to say about it. From the high-quality visuals, modifiable graphics, controller support to touchscreen support, Madnani says the game runs brilliantly even compared to the Xbox and PS4 versions.
If you’ve not played Alien: Isolation before, the mobile version is phenomenal. It isn’t just a good value proposition with all DLC included at the low asking price of $14.99 compared to other platforms, but it looks and runs brilliantly even compared to the Xbox and PS4 versions. I know Feral Interactive is capable of miracle mobile conversions, but this Alien: Isolation is on a whole other level.
Alien: Isolation is available on the App Store for $14.99 and includes the base game, all seven DLC packs. The “Survivor Mode” is an additional download, making the game’s total install size around 11GB. Feral recommends users have at least 22GB of free space for installation.
The game supports iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, and later, and iPhone SE (2020). Supported iPads include the iPad mini 5 (2019) and later, iPad Air 3 (2019) and later, iPad 7 (2019) and later, iPad Pro 1st gen (2015), 12.9-inch model only, and iPad Pro 2nd gen (2017) and later. Your device must be running iOS/iPadOS 14.8 or later.
