Amazon will be releasing a Kindle for PC application in the upcoming month. With its Kindle for PC application, Amazon wishes to enable PC users to use Kindle Books on their personal computers . The yet to be released app is expected to take advantage of Windows 7 features such as Jump Lists and Windows 7 Touch technology. We’ve listed the features that this app will provide.
Kindle for PC Features
- Purchase, download as well as read hundreds of thousands of books available in Kindle Store
- Access entire library of previously purchased/downloaded Kindle books stored on Amazon’s servers for free
- Select from more than 10 different font sizes and adjust words displayed per line
- Amazo’s Whispersync technology automatically saves and synchronizes bookmarks and last page read for added convenience
- View notes and highlights marked on Kindle and Kindle DX Turn pages with finger swipe (Windows 7 users only)
- Zoom in and out of text with a pinch of the fingers thanks to the Windows Touch technology (Windows 7)
The cool thing about this app is that it targets two categories of users one who also own Kindle or Kindle DX and the other user category who don’t have a Kindle device in their possession.
Amazon is expected to release the free of charge Kindle for PC in the month of November. Kindle for PC will support Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.
