As people all over the world are adjusting to present conditions due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the need for social connectivity among users is more than ever. To stay connected in the isolated conditions, it is important to provide a platform for sharing stories, sparking up conversations and talking regularly. Anchor has provided an easier way to stay connected from long distances through podcasts.
Anchor is an all-in-one platform used by millions of users worldwide to create, distribute, and monetize podcasts from any device. It is one of the easiest ways to start a podcast. Anchor announced on 24th March that it is introducing a new feature called “Record with Friends 2.0” directly built into the Anchor App for iPad, iPhone, and Android. Over the past few weeks, the developers at Anchor had been working to expand its podcasting functionality and include more than just a few devices. Now with Record with Friends 2.0 in beta, up to 4 people can join your recording through a shared URL.
The new “Record with Friends 2.0” feature will allow adding up to 4 people to your podcast recording. Users can join the podcast by clicking on an invite link generated by the app. The link opens up in the guest’s browser on desktop or mobile, and allow them to join the recording instantly. The guest will be redirected to the Anchor app on iPad, iPhone or Android if they are accessing the link on a mobile device. To help the host maintain track of who is speaking, every guest will be asked to type their name before joining.
Now users can easily host podcasts with friends whenever they like. It can be a great way to reconnect with people. The feature would be really useful in the current situation, as people all around the globe are continuing to work from home due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The Anchor app can be downloaded from the App Store and Play Store for free.
