Apple revealed the 2023 Mac Studio with M2 Max and M2 Ultra chips at the WWDC 2023 event to further enhance users’ desktop experience.
Powered by Apple’s most powerful chip yet, the M2 Ultra, the Mac Studio delivers “unprecedented performance” which is up to 3x faster than the previous Mac Studio with M1 Ultra.

Design
The new 2023 Mac Studio retains the same design language as the 2022 Mac Studio but it is packed with more powerful internals.
Processors
It is available in two configurations:
- M2 Max chip features a 12-core CPU, up to a 38-core GPU, and up to 96GB of unified memory with 400GB/s of memory bandwidth.
- M2 Ultra chip features a 24-core CPU, up to a 76-core GPU, and up to 192GB of memory with 800GB/s of unified memory bandwidth.
Performance
- With an M2 Max chip, the new Mac Studio delivers up to 50% faster performance than the 2022 Mac Studio and 4x faster performance than the most powerful Intel-based 27-inch iMac
- With the M2 Ultra chip, the new Mac Studio delivers up to 3x faster performance than the previous Mac Studio with M1 Ultra, and up to 6x faster than the most powerful Intel-based 27-inch iMac.
External display support
The 2023 Mac Studio features higher-bandwidth HDMI enabling up to 8K resolution and 240Hz frame rate. And with M2 Ultra, it supports up to six Pro Display XDRs.
Connectivity
2023 Mac Studio features advanced built-in wireless technologies, WiFi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3.
