Apple will launch AirTags and AR devices with other products in 2021 – Report

Popular tech analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo claims that Apple will launch AirTags and augmented reality devices, along with other products this year. In 2020, the Cupertino tech giant launch several new products to help users transition to remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic which boosted the company’s market cap by an impressive 150% increase in its share price by December.

The report is ambiguous on which AR devices would the company launch in 2021. Currently, Apple offers the Augmented Reality technology in iPad Pro and iPhone 12 Pro models using LiDAR sensor. As per the rumors circulating in the industry, the lenses for Apple’s AR glasses/headset have moved to trail production, and the alleged AR devices will launch in 2021. We will have to wait for more precise detail to know which Augmented Reality products might be launched this year.

Apple Products in 2021: AirTags, MacBook, 3rd generation AirPods, and more

AirTags are Apple’s alleged Bluetooth electronic tags that would magnetically attach to an object or surface so that users can locate items that are easily misplaced like keys, wallets or to find their car in a crowded parking lot via a new ‘Items’ section in the Find My app on the iPhone. The functionality of AirTags is very similar to a competitive product by Tile.

Various leaker claim that the AirTags will have a circular design with a white exterior. However, the details vary on whether the Apple logo will be embossed on the front or will be on the back. Recently, @LeaksApplePro shared that each electronic tag will cost $49, which we believe, is an expensive price tag for a product that users are expected to purchase in bundles. Another leaker with a mixed track record, Jon Prosser has released a new detailed 3D video illustrating the AirTags pairing process and more.

In addition, Ming-Chi Kuo has previously reported that the iPhone maker will launch a new iPad with a mini-LED display and 5G network, 3rd generation AirPods with AirPods Pro design language, and Apple Watch with new health features. More interestingly, he also claims that Apple will introduce second-generation Apple Silicon Mac models. In 2020, M1 Apple Silicon MacBook models received great reviews and impressed the industry with their fast performance and incredible battery life. So, the news of an even better Apple Silicon for Mac makes us excited.

Keep in mind that only Apple owns for sure what Apple will launch, so take leaks and reports of alleged products in 2021 with a grain of salt. Having said that, the company was able to launch new products and service despite COVID-19 hurdles and we expect the same this.
