Apple’s subscription mobile gaming service, Apple Arcade, has released over 140 games to play across the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV since its launch in 2019. Apple has regularly released new games every week or so, and updating others as well.
Apple Arcade kicked off 2021 by launching Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon and is teasing more games to come. One of the most awaiting games of 2020, The Pathless from Annapurna Interactive and Giant Squad, joined the gaming service in November.
New Apple Arcade titles coming soon in 2021
The Apple Arcade section found in the App Store is pretty good in laying out the next various games that are set to come to the service soon. The highly anticipated spin-off Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon landed this week among other games, so below is a list of games that are coming to the Apple Arcade.
Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon
The expected release date for this game is January 8th, 2021. The users were formally introduced to Chronos Dungeon about a month ago and came as a surprise to everyone. Oceanhorn 2 of Cornfox has been a flagship title for Apple Arcade since its launch. Cornfox has released tons of content updates in the time since.
Even after all that, Cornfox managed to take out time to do a pixel art spin-off of Oceanhorn that is in the style of a rogue-lite dungeon crawler with an emphasis on multiplayer play.
Lumen
Lumen is a new game and it allows players to play with light and reflections to solve complex puzzles. In the game, a player discovers an antique box of the late Mrs. Olivia MacLumen, her inventions and life stories are saved on the film frames. To be able to see them, players need to angle mirrors, use light, position lenses to aim the beam of light to unveil the frame. Every puzzle that is solved, unlocks a new frame to learn more about the mysterious inventor.
Populus Run
Populus Run is expected to release on 29th January 2021. In this new game, control a crowd of people, battle bosses, and dodge giant food obstacles on the track.
The Artful Escape
The developers for this game are Annapurna Interactive. The Artful Escape tells the story of teenage guitar prodigy Francis Vendetti. Francis finds himself on a psychedelic quest of self-discovery, on the night of his first performance. Along the way, he battles dead fold legends and even his own imagination.
NUTS: A Surveillance Mystery
NUTS was teased back in June of last year by developer Noodlecake. The game features an incredibly cool art style that has a low-fi feel and it is an adventure game where players can play as field researchers who monitors the habits of a group of squirrels in the forest. Players can overview surveillance from their command center or even set up cameras in various locations to keep an eye out for those shady squirrels and find out what they have been up to.
Spire Blast
Spire Blast is a puzzle game in which players must match colored bricks to blast and knock down towers. The game is physics-based, so you have to be very careful about how you match and shoot the bricks, it will determine how the tower tumbles. Your hungry dragon companions can assist you, however, you can have to take good care of them.
Wonderbox
Formerly known as Box Project, when Wonderbox was announced for Apple Arcade there were not many details available aside from a photo of a cardboard box. But now, the action-adventure game is supposed to be out soon, has an official name, and looks like fun for the whole family.
Fantasian
Hironobu Sakaguchi, Fantasian’s creator, is the mastermind behind multiple RPGs including Final Fantasy, has been regularly posting on Twitter about the upcoming JRPG game. You can even scroll through Sakaguchi’s social media and get a good look at the game’s concept art and its handcrafted dioramas as they are being built. Mistwalker has posted new designs of Magitech Factory in Machine City, Secret Base, New Town En, and the Water Cite of Venice from the game.
