The Cupertino tech giant has launched ‘Apple Business Connect’, a free tool for businesses of all sizes to customize their information directly in Apple Maps place cards to appear across Apple apps like Messages, Wallet, Siri, and others and connect with customers more directly.
Place cards in Maps on iOS and iPadOS offer information about places like street addresses, phone numbers, customer reviews, webpage links, and more. Now, business users will be able to make reservations and much more.
Apple Business Connect designed to boost customer engagement directly from Apple Maps
The new ‘Apple Business Connect’ offers an opportunity for business owners, especially small business owners to manage their information in the interactive Apple Maps place card and increase customer engagement.
Here is what businesses can use ‘Apple Business Connect’ for:
- Adding and updating photos and logos
- Inviting customers to take actions like making reservations, ordering food and groceries, and more directly from the Maps app
- Marketing special promotions
- New Showcases feature in the Maps place card to present offers and incentives like seasonal menu items, product discounts, and more. This feature is currently only available in the United States and will be released worldwide in the coming months
Business owners require their Apple ID to register for Business Connect from any computer. After their business is logged in and verified by Apple, they can claim their locations(s) and start updating and personalizing their place cards.
Apple’s senior vice president of Services, Eddy Cue said:
