Another automobile, Lucid Motors now supports Apple CarPlay in all of its standard Lucid Air electric vehicles.
Apple CarPlay is a wireless technology system that connects iPhone to a vehicle’s built-in infotainment display so drivers to use their iPhones safely on the road. Users can make and answer calls, send and receive texts, get directions, play songs on Apple Music, use Siri to go hands-free, listen to their favorite episodes on Apple Podcasts, and more while keeping their attention on the road. CarPlay also supports third-party iOS apps like food delivery, messaging, EV charging, and parking apps.
Several automobile manufacturers support CarPlay like Polestar, Volvo, BMW, Infinity, Bentley, Cadillac, Audi, Ford, GMC, Honda, Land Rover, MG, Mercedes-Benz, Porche, Mazda, Nissan, and others.

In addition to current functionalities, Apple is going to update the software system this fall. In iOS 16 updates coming in late 2023, next-generation CarPlay will display content for multiple screens in an automobile, new fueling, and driving tasks apps, Siri will be able to send messages automatically after reading them, and more.
However, the first automobiles to support the new CarPlay would not be announced at the end of 2023 and will arrive to consumers in 2024 or 2025. Only new app categories will be available in the fall.
