Today, Apple Fitness+ is now available to everyone finally, after being announced at September Apple Watch Series 6 and SE event. As an Apple Watch exclusive home workouts service, Apple Fitness+ expands the company’s subscription base to a new demographic.
The service is designed to keep subscribers motivated and by integrating Apple Watch metrics on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV, so they can focus on their health anywhere and anytime. Apple Watch owners can access Fitness+ in the Fitness app (previously called Activity app) on the iPhone, and users can download the app on iPad via App Store. The Fitness app will automatically appear on Apple TV when it is upgraded to tvOS 14.3.
Whether users are looking for a daily routine, want to try something new, know what they like to do, or are just getting started, Fitness+ offers workouts for everyone from a team of celebrated, charismatic, and passionate trainers who are specialists in their fields, and are inspired to coach all levels, from beginners to fitness enthusiasts. All of the workouts also include a trainer demonstrating modifications, so there’s always someone to follow, no matter a user’s ability.
Apple Fitness+: features and requirements
Apple Fitness+ offers a diverse variety of fitness programs created by leading trainers in 10 different workout types, that can be easy completed at home with or without equipment:
- High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)
- Strength
- Yoga
- Dance
- Core
- Cycling
- Treadmill (for running and walking)
- Rowing
- Mindful Cooldown
Each workout type can be adjusted as per the users’ need, duration, and fitness level. Users have the freedom to choose their trainers and music “thoughtfully chosen for each workout to keep users moving and motivated.” Based on their most completed workouts, Fitness+ also recommends similar fitness sessions, new trainers, or new workout routines. The announcement states:
“The Fitness+ trainers are a diverse, inclusive, and approachable team made up of people with their own unique and inspiring story. They are specialists in their field, and are passionate about helping people achieve their fitness goals.”

Apple Fitness+ is available for $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year with a one-month free trial for existing and three months free trial for new Apple Watch owners. Users can share their subscription with up to 6 family members. Apple One premier plan subscribers will get Fitness+ for 429.95 per month, along with other services included in the bundle.
