A new leak claims that the next-generation iPad 9 will launch at today’s ‘California streaming’ event. Initial reports said that Apple will launch iPhone 13 series, Apple Watch Series 7, AirPods 3, and M1X MacBook Pro models.
But as the event came nearer, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg claimed that Apple will hold two Fall events instead of one and the second event will be held “several weeks” after the September 14 event. He later added that the company will announce the new MacBook Pro and iPad models at the second event.
Redesigned 10.5-inch iPad 9 is expected to unveil at September 14 event
@PandalsBald shared on Weibo, a Chinese social media network, that the 9th generation iPad might be unveiled today or later. The same account previously shared information of iPhone 13 pre-order dates. According to the leak, the new iPad will be powered by an A12 Bionic chip, will have a 10.5-inch Retina display with TrueTone and laminated display. It will come with 8MP front and back cameras, up to 256GB memory, support for Apple Pencil, and Smart Keyboard.
Based on industry sources, the new iPad 9 will have a 10.2-inch or 10.5-inch display and iPad Pro (2020) like flat edge-to-edge design language and will be thinner and lighter than the predecessor. Retailing for $299, it will come with Touch ID, Lightning ports, 4GB memory, and 64GB storage space.
The display size will remain the same as the iPad (8th Generation) at 10.2 inches, but the thickness will be much thinner at 6.3mm and the weight will be reduced to 460g.
After two years, the new entry-level tablet was upgraded with a next-generation A-series chip to deliver a better and faster performance. There have been different reports on its alleged display, Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that Apple will introduce a mini-LED iPad in 2021 and other reports detailed that the iPad 9 will have an anti-reflective, True Tone, and full lamination display.
Cupertino tech giant is also expected to unveil the redesigned iPad mini 6 at the event which will be powered by an A14 Bionic chip, and have an 8.6-inch display. Starting from $399, it will feature a USB-C port, smart connector, and might be available in Blue, Rose Gold, Space Gray, Silver, and Green color options.
