Currently, news of slightly bigger iPad mini models coming out this year is circulating in the industry. However, a new report by a Korean publisher Naver alleges that Apple will launch a new iPad mini Pro in the Q2 of 2021. This is the first report to make such a claim.
Previously, renowned TF Securities tech analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo stated that the Cupertino tech giant will upgrade the mini-tablet line-up with an 8-inch iPad mini with thinner bezels and a 9-inch iPad mini, both launching this year. But the new report claims that the alleged iPad mini Pro will be slightly bigger, 8.7-inch.
Apple to introduce first-generation iPad mini Pro this year
The report writes that the alleged Pro model of Apple’s smallest iPad is in the P2 stage of development and would be moving to P3 soon. However, the publisher does not detail the changes in design in the edges and display to make the mini model look like an iPad Pro:
The iPad mini pro model, which we talked about on January 10th of this year in July of last year, was captured during the internal project stage for the first time.
It is currently in the design P2 stage beyond the R&D stage and the planning stage, and
seems to be moving to the DVT P3 stage sooner or later. As a result, it is expected that the iPad mini pro model, which I have mentioned several times, will be released in the second half of the year.
The size is 8.7 inches, the width is longer than that of the previous iPad mini, and the vertical width is slightly reduced.
