Adding on to its ongoing Back to School promotion, Apple is now offering free Beats Flex earphones to first-time subscribers of its Apple Music Student plan.

Apple is now offering free Beats Flex earphones to first-time subscribers of the Apple Music Student plan in conjunction with its annual Back to School campaign.
For this year’s Back to School promotion, the Cupertino tech giant is offering discounts on accessories for Macs and iPads as well as 20% off on AppleCare+ for both. In addition, this year’s promotion gets students gift cards with eligible Mac and iPad purchases.
In some countries including India, Thailand, and Singapore, Apple is even offering free AirPods 2 with eligible purchases as well as discounts on AirPods 3 and AirPods Pro.
As for the Apple Music Student plan promotion, it only applies to students in the United States and the United Kingdom who have not previously subscribed to any Apple Music plan. Apple further says that you must be a student studying a bachelor degree, post-graduate degree, or equivalent Higher Education course at a University or College. The identity and eligibility of the student must also be successfully verified through Apple or a third-party verification identified by Apple.
There is one caveat here that prevents first-time subscribers from paying for a subscription and subsequently canceling in the hopes of saving their money and receiving a new pair of Beats Flex earphones. The tech giant states:
You will only become eligible for the free Beats Flex earphones upon making your first monthly payment for your Apple Music student subscription (i.e., you will not become eligible during your free trial). If you cancel your subscription during your free offer period, you will not be eligible for this offer.
Within 30 days after you have become eligible, Apple will email you instructions for redeeming your free pair of Beats Flex earphones. Within 90 days of receiving this email, you must successfully follow these instructions to receive your earphones.
Eligible students will also be given the option to redeem the earphones in various color options. In the color you order is unfortunately not in stock, the company will send you an available color of its choosing. Finally, the earphones can be shipped to you only at a mailing address in the region in which you have subscribed to Apple Music student.
In May, the price of Apple Music’s student plan was increased by one dollar from $4.99 to $5.99 in regions including the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
