Apple has released a new iPhone 12 video ‘Cook’ showcasing the smartphone’s durability. From time to time, the company posts promotional videos to highlight the new features in the flagship iPhone series, especially the camera quality. However, this time the video is demonstrating the smartphone’s durability during everyday chores like cooking in the kitchen.
“iPhone 12. More spill and splash resistant than ever. Ceramic Shield, tougher than any smartphone glass. Relax, it’s iPhone.”
The new iPhone 12 model is packed with advanced hardware and software. Powered by an A14 Bionic chip, the smartphone has a 6.1-inch OLED Retina display with front Ceramic Shield protection and glass back and aluminum design. Splash, Water, and Dust Resistant has rated IP68 (maximum depth of 6 meters up to 30 minutes) under IEC standard 60529.
iPhone 12 durability is showcased in Apple’s new video ‘Cook’
Uploaded on Apple’s official YouTube channel, ‘Cook’ is a humorous video of a careless home chef reading the recipe on the iPhone 12 while cooking on the melody of the song ‘Sauce’ by Naïka. During the process, he smacks the display on the chopping board, drops pepper shakers on it, dusts flour, and spills milk on the smartphone. And at the end, washes everything off with the caption, “Relax, it’s iPhone.”
At the time of launch, Allstate Protection Plans tested iPhone 12 drop durability from 6 feet, from all sides.
- Face Down Drop Test: small cracks, scuffed corners and edges, and sharp metal.
- Back Down Drop Test: scuffed corners and edges, sharp metal.
- Side Down Drop Test: scuffed corners and edges, and sharp metal.
Impressed by the smartphone durability, the tester’s verdict stated that,
“iPhone 12 is the most durable smartphone we’ve tested, its Ceramic shield screen is a leap forward for durability, though not indestructible, its flat side design may also improve drop durability.”
