For 2022 Earth Day celebrations, Apple has chosen to donate $1 to World Wildlife Fund for every Apple Pay transaction made through the Apple Store app or Apple online store. The new promotion will be valid until April 22.
Apple Pay is the Cupertino tech company’s mobile payment and digital wallet service powered by the iPhone Wallet app. It allows users to make secure, contactless, and quick payments via a single tap in retail and online stores, or send cash to family or friends. In an email sent to Apple Pay users, the company notified them of the new promotion.
Apple Pay $1 donations for Earth Day will be used for the development of wildlife, worldwide
As per its commitment to the environment, Apple partners with an environmental organization to raise funds. This year, the tech giant has chosen World Wildlife Fund. The email states that funds collected by the promotion will be used to develop innovative technologies to protect and preserve wildlife worldwide.
For 60 years, World Wildlife Fund has worked to conserve nature and reduce the most pressing threats to the diversity of life on Earth. Connecting cutting-edge conservation science with the collective power of its partners in the field, World Wildlife Fund strives to develop and deliver innovative solutions that protect communities, wildlife, and the places in which they live.
The company is also expected to launch its annual Earth Day activity awards for Apple Watch. Users will get a chance to earn exclusive badges for completing the move, stand, or exercise goals. Apple TV+ will also soon debut “It’s the Small Things, Charlie Brown”, an all-new Peanuts Earth Day special to spread environmental awareness amongst young minds.
