Apple Podcasts today launched three new editorially curated Collections: Darkside, tbh, and Popped. The new free genera collections will provide listeners with dedicated spaces to discover new and popular podcasts covering true crime and investigations, society and culture, and entertainment.
Apple introduces three new Podcasts Collections
These new Collections are available for free to listeners in the United States and Canada and can be found from the Browse and Search tabs across iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Similar to Apple Music playlists, the tech giant says these new Collections will be updated weekly with new programming and recommendations.
Darkside
True crime is one of the most popular podcasts genres these days and each Tuesday, Darkside will present new series and seasons that “go deep into the wide and unpredictable worlds of crime,” says Apple in a press release. From murder mysteries to mind-boggling missing person cases to scammers, con artists, and cults, listeners will get their weekly dose of gore from this Collection.
Popped
Then, every Thursday, Popped will be updated, getting users hyped for a fun-filled weekend. “Pop culture connoisseurs, unite! Popped helps listeners find the best discussions about their favorite TV shows, movies, music, books, video games, and more” Apple says. The podcasts in this Collection will feature “must-hear takes and interviews with the people who make these experiences so special.”
tbh
On Wednesdays, Apple will update the tbh (To Be Honest) collection in which editors will “highlight the voices and perspectives you need to hear, including those you may not have considered.” The tech giant says this Collection offers fresh perspectives to understand the world with “context, nuance, and empathy.” The Collection will allow viewers to stay up to date with the latest trending topics and learn about what could be coming next in culture.
While the Collections are currently only available in the United States and Canada, it is likely that they will be rolled out internationally in the coming months. The new Collections are reportedly starting to appear in the Podcasts app in the United Kingdom.
