To improve creators’ experience on Apple Podcasts, the company has announced a new “Delegate Delivery” feature which adds support for third-party hosting providers. The new “Delegate Delivery” is designed to enable creators to publish and distribute their premium episodes through participating third-party hosting providers. Apple states that “Delegated Delivery reduces operational tasks for podcast subscriptions so that creators can focus on making and marketing their work.”
To capture a decent share of the flourishing podcasts industry, Apple has introduced new features to its Podcasts apps. The company launched Apple Podcasts Subscriptions and channels in 2021 for creators to produce exclusive and ad-free content in a diverse range of genres like news, entertainment, sports, fiction, crime, and others. It is also an opportunity for creators to monetize their content and earn a living.
Recently, the company released new features for App Prodcast Connect like follower metrics, support for MP3 files, and more for creators of premium content to measure their audience and monetize their shows. Now, the company has introduced another feature for creators to publish free and premium content through the hosting service of their preference.
Apple Podcasts’ “Delegated Delivery” feature will launch this fall with support for seven third-party hosting providers
Starting this fall, Apple Podcasts creators will be able to authorize a participating third-party hosting service to submit, and publish their content (free and premium) including the scheduled release of exclusive, early access, bonus, and ad-free episodes using MP3 files, WAV, and FLAC.
Initially, the new Delegated Delivery will launch with support for seven third-party hosting providers with the promise that more partners will be added in the future.
