Apple has introduced a new professional training program including online courses and certifications for Apple device deployment, management, and support for the growing IT workforce.
The company explains that the demand for skilled support and technical staff within the enterprise is growing and is expected to grow faster than the average of other occupations from 2020 to 2030. Therefore, the new program will provide technical knowledge and support to employees who use an iPhone, iPad, and Mac at work.
Apple introduced two new online and self-paced Professional Training courses and certifications
As per the announcement, the new IT training program includes two Professional Training courses which are available on training.apple.com.
- Apple Device Support course, with 14 hours of learning content, covers the tools and services, and best practices for technical coordinators, desk professionals, or service providers using Mac, iPad, and iPad at an organization.
- Apple Deployment and Management, with 13 hours of learning content, covers how to configure, manage and secure Apple products using MDM (mobile device management). Users will also learn how to develop a deployment strategy using Apple Business Manager and Apple School Manager, and configuring devices with an MDM solution.
Each online course is self-paced and sequential, so, users can build their knowledge as they progress. And at the completion of each course, they can take a certification exam for $149 “to demonstrate competence achieved at each level with corresponding digital badges from Apple”. The earned certification will be valid for resumes, online profiles, and job boards.
Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Enterprise and Education Marketing said:
“More people than ever are using Mac, iPad, and iPhone to do their best work, and the demand for Apple-certified IT professionals has never been greater.
Apple Professional Training helps anyone with an interest in technology — whether they are changing careers or upping their skill set — pursue high-paying IT jobs with certifications that will stand out to potential employers.
We believe deeply in inclusion in technology, so the new courses are self-paced and freely available, and we are working to ensure ability to pay isn’t a barrier to earning Apple certification.”
