Ahead of the Holiday season, Apple has introduced a new promotional deal on 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro (2021) models for small businesses which buy computers in bulk. With up to a 10% discount on the M1 notebooks, the rare offer is expected to “spur” Mac sales during the holiday quarter.
In Q4, 2022, Apple recorded $11.5 billion in revenue from Mac computers sales, and the company’s senior executives credited the lineup’s best sales period in history to the high performance of Apple Silicon Macs, the arrival of 13-inch M2 MacBook Air and Pro and steady supply.
However, Bloomberg reports that the company expects a decline in Mac revenue this holiday season because Mac shoppers do not have much “enticement” as new MacBook Pro models would not be launched in the holiday quarter like the previous year.
Apple’s “very special Mac campaign” offers up to 10% on high-end MacBook Pro models
To boost sales, Apple has offered up to 10% discount to small businesses which is usually reserved for bigger spenders.
According to the report, the tech company’s sales representatives have been reaching out to small businesses to market its “very special Mac campaign”. On the purchase of 5 to 24 MacBook Pros companies would get an 8% discount and a 10% discount on 25 or more units. The offer will be valid until December 24, 2022.
The Cupertino, California-based technoloy giant has long had a sales team aimed at small businesses. But discounts of 8% to 10% are typically reserved for the biggest spenders, whereas the current promotion is available to all business customers.
In addition to invigorating sales, it is also speculated that Apple might be clearing out 2021 MacBook Pro inventory before the launch of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips in early 2023.
The company has also confirmed that iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models will be available in limited stock this Holiday season because of COVID-19 lockdowns in China.
