Surprisingly, Apple has unveiled a new custom Beats Pill+ speaker after discontinuing the portable smart speaker at the start of 2022. Inspired by the Sonoran desert, the new Beats Pill+ speaker is designed by NBA start Devin Book and Book Projects.
In 2014, Apple bought the Beats by Dre company for $3 billion and continued selling Beats audio products under the same brand. Over the years, Apple has updated the existing Beats headphones lineup, introduced new wireless headphones like Fit Pro, Studio Buds, and also discontinued a few OG products like Powerbeats, Solo Pro, and others. Now, the Beats Pill+ speaker has risen from the grave.
Redesigned Beats Pill+ speaker comes in a new deep beige and brown tones like the Sonora desert’s dunes
Beats by Dre announced the new custom Beats Pill+ speaker through a video posted on Twitter. As seen in the video, the new model of the smart wireless speaker has the original pill shape but in a completely new color theme instead of the all white and black colors options.
Inspired by the Sonora desert, the upcoming Pill+ has black and brown color tones speaker mesh, and an illuminating iconic “b” on the top black oval panel with controls for power and volume.
Apple has been launching exclusive limited-edition models of Beats headphones in collaboration with athletes, artists, brands, and others to attract a wide range of consumers. Recently the company introduced special-edition Beats Studio Buds in partnership with Futura Laboratories and Daily Paper.
However, the company has not shared any other details of the new Pill+ speaker like its launch date or price and the product is not featured on its website. An excited consumer commented that it might be an NFT, not a real speaker.

Previously, the portable Beats Pill+ speaker retailed for $130 and offered Bluetooth support with a 12-hour rechargeable battery and compatibility with iOS and Android.
If the new Pill+ is launched, it will add another mid-range smart speaker to Apple’s speaker lineup which consists of the $99 HomePod mini.
