Apple is planning to release a fix soon for a daylight savings bug in iPhone’s alarm clock application which causes recurring alarms to go off one hour earlier. The bug which was discovered just yesterday in South Wales and Victoria has already caught the Apple Australia’a eye and according to an official statement the bug fix is already in the pipeline.
Apple spokesman said:
“We’re aware of this issue and already developed a fix which will be available to customers in an upcoming software update,”
It now appears that the release of iOS 4.1.1 by Apple to fix this alarm bug is imminent. This means that if you haven’t yet backed up your SHSH blobs for iOS 4.1, its about time you do! Since the untethered Limera1n jailbreak for iOS4.1 utilizes a userland hack from @comex, Apple will definitely patch that hole in the next update. Thus even though Limera1n, being a bootrom level exploit, will still jailbreak your iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS as well as iPod touch 4G/3G on iOS 4.1.1 but you will lose the untethered status which will result in requiring you to connect your iOS device with the computer and finish the boot process each time you restart your device!
It is recommended to backup your SHSH blobs by letting Cydia keep them (“make my life easier”), or using Tiny Umbrella so that you can always return to iOS 4.1 and enjoy the untethered jaibreak for your iOS device.
