Apple releases Magic Trackpad, Costs $69

We were hearing rumors about Apple launching a multitouch trackpad since last year and today Apple finally unveiled the ‘Magic Trackpad’. With this new Magic touchpad, iMac and MacPro users can experience multitouch input and gestures, even better than what is possible with the Magic Mouse.

Apple's Magic Track PAd

The new Magic Trackpad is the first Multi-Touch trackpad designed to work with your Mac desktop computer. It uses the same Multi-Touch technology you love on the MacBook Pro.

The Magic Touchpad is like a larger version of the MacBook Pro touchpad, but it has an even bigger surface area than that of the Macbook Pro touchpad. It supports gestures like pinch to zoom, two-finger scrolling, three-finger swiping, rotating with fingertips and four finger recognition. If you tap or double tap, then it would initiate a click or double click. Gestures can also be enabled and disabled at personal discretion from System Preferences in OS X.

The design of the Magic Trackpad is just like the design of Apple’ wireless keyboard so it looks just like a part of your iMac.The bluetooth functionality of this trackpad allows you to use it from 33 feet away. Apple has also launched a battery charger to keep this trackpad ready for the user. The Magic Tackpad is available for $69 and is ready to ship now.

  1. This trackpad looks good but I like to play games using my iMac and mouse is a lot better for that.
