Apple has released beta 3 updates for iOS 17.5, iPadOS 17.5, macOS Sonoma 14.5, watchOS 10.5, and tvOS 17.5 to developers. The third visionOS 1.2 beta has also been released to developers today. The updates are available over-the-air for eligible devices, as well as via Apple Developer Center for device enrollment.
iOS 17.5 features include support for sideloading, app installation from the web for users in the EU, design enhancements across built-in apps such as Books and Podcasts, improvements to anti-stalking systems for Find My accessories, MDM improvements, and more. Read more about how sideloading and third-party app stores will work on iPhones in the EU.
macOS Sonoma 14.5 has not been accompanied by any release notes and no noticeable features and changes have been discovered so far. It may be that Apple might simply include performance, bug, and security fixes in this release.
Similarly, there is no information available publicly regarding the new features and changes in both watchOS 10.5 and tvOS 17.5 for Apple Watch and Apple TV respectively. Apple usually shares details of the new features in the release notes when the release candidate for these software updates is rolled out to developers.
Lastly, visionOS 1.2 beta 3 has also been released to developers. The first beta was released almost two weeks ago, and a revised version was released a week ago alongside visionOS 1.1.2 update. The new beta features a bunch of fixes related to FaceTime, keyboard, and more. In terms of new features and enhancements, it is unclear as to what Apple is working on. The last major update for Apple Vision Pro featured support for Mobile Device Management, Persona and EyeSight improvements, enhancements to the keyboard and Mac Virtual Display, and much more.
We will update the post if we find any noticeable changes in these software updates.
