Deadline reports that Apple TV+ has acquired a new movie “Project Artemis” for $100 million. The movie will be directed by Jason Batemen and will star the famous Avengers duo, Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson.
Evans has been part of Apple TV+ since 2020 with his hit “Defending Jacob” drama series. And it was reported that Evans and Johansson will be starring in “Ghosted”, a romantic action-adventure movie by Dexter Fletcher, and created and written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. But later, Bond girl Ana de Armas replaced Scarlett after she left the project for undisclosed reasons.
Chris Evans confirms Apple TV+ new space-race inspired movie “Project Artemis”
According to the report, the screenplay of the new movie is written by Rose Gilroy and produced by Johansson, Jonathan Lia, Keenan Flynn, and Bateman.
Although the plot details are kept secret, it is confirmed that the story is based on a space race. Maybe it is inspired by NASA’s Project Artemis to put a human on the Moon in the 21st century. Evans confirmed the project on Twitter.

As an all-originals video streamer, the acquisition of the new movie shows that Apple TV+ spends big bucks on exciting content for subscribers. The Studios acquired its Oscar-winning movie “CODA” at Sundance Film Festival for $25 million.
That’s not all. Fresh off its Best Picture Oscar win for Coda, Apple has swooped in on the in-demand package in a $100M+ deal. CAA cut the deal on behalf of the producers. This marks another massive purchase for the studio following a year that saw them pay more than $200M for both the Matthew Vaughn package Argyle and the untitled F1 racing pic starring Brad Pitt.
