Apple TV+ has landed another foreign title “Midnight Family”, its first Spanish-language original drama. The upcoming show will be a 10-episode medical drama, inspired by an award-winning documentary of the same name “Familia de Medianoche”.
The new series is created by Gibrán Portela and Julio Rojas, written by Portela and Natalia Beristáin serves as its showrunner and director. Beristáin also directed two episodes of the hit Apple Original “The Mosquito Coast” series which is renewed for season 2.
Fremantle and Fabula will produce the new “Midnight Family” drama series for Apple and it will be executive produced by Pablo Larraín and Juan de Dios Larraín through Fabula, Angela Poblete, and Mariane Hartard.
Apple TV+’s upcoming “Midnight Family” series will showcase the life of a gifted medical student and her secret night job
Currently, in production, the new series will follow the life of a talented medical student, played by Vaca, with a secret nightlife to save lives in Mexico City with her father and siblings.
“Midnight Family” follows Marigaby Tamayo (played by Vaca), an ambitious and gifted medical student by day, who spends her nights saving lives throughout a sprawling, contrasted and fascinating Mexico City aboard her family’s privately owned ambulance.
Along with her father Ramón (played by Cosío) and her siblings Marcus (played by Calva) and Julito (played by Bautista), Marigaby serves a population of millions by tackling extreme medical emergencies to make a living.
As per the announcement, the series will feature an entirely Hispanic cast and crew members:

Apple TV+ is gradually expanding its library of foreign content; the videos streaming service offers Tehran, Dr.Brain, and will premier Pachinko soon, March 25.
