In February, Apple TV+ announced the acquisition of the new drama series “The New Look” based on the life of renowned fashion designer Christian Dior. Variety reports that young Maisie Williams has joined the cast of the upcoming series starring Emmy Award winner Ben Mendelsohn and Academy Award winner Juliette Binoche.
Williams is known for her famous character Arya Stark in the superhit HBO series “Game of Thrones” which earned her two Emmy nominations for Best Supporting Actor in a drama. Williams is the second “Game of Thrones” alum to join Apple. Previously, it was reported that t Nikolaj Coster-Waldau will star in “The Last Thing He Told Me”, along with Jennifer Garner.

Situated in the post-World War II era, “The New Look” is inspired by the true events surrounding the struggle of two fashion designers who lock horns to dominate the Paris fashion industry, the reigning Coco Chanel (played by Juliette Binoche) and the emerging Christian Dior (played by Ben Mendelsohn).
In the story of the meteoric rise of fashion designer Christian Dior, William will play the part of his younger sister and Medal of Honor winner for Courage in the cause of Freedom.
Filmed exclusively in Paris, “The New Look” is a live-action, World War II-era thriller that centers on the pivotal moment in the twentieth century when Paris led the world back to life through its fashion icon, Christian Dior (played by Mendelsohn), whose creations dominated world fashion in the decade following World War II.
The interwoven saga will include the surprising stories of Dior’s contemporaries and rivals: the grand dame Coco Chanel (played by Binoche), Balmain, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Pierre Cardin, Yves Saint Laurent and more.
“The New Look” series will be written, directed and executive produced by Todd A. Kessler, Ben Mendelsohn, and Juliette Binoche and produced by Apple Studios.
