Apple TV+ has announced that its mystery drama series “Truth Be Told” is renewed for the third season which will introduce Maisha Closson as its showrunner and executive producer. The show is created by Nichelle Tramble Spellman who is also the executive producer and produced by Hello Sunshine, Chernin Entertainment, and Endeavor Content.
Launched in 2020, “Truth Be Told” was popular amongst the audience, after the video streaming service’s launch titles were received poorly. Executive produced by Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer the mystery anthology series won NAACP Image Award.
Apple TV+ to dive deeper into America’s obsession with true-crime podcasts in season 3 of “Truth Be Told”
Closson is the writer and executive producer for season three. Other executive producers of the show are Octavia Spencer, Reese Witherspoon, and Lauren Neustadter for Hello Sunshine; Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping for Chernin Entertainment; and Mikkel Nørgaard. The new season will continue to unveil the world of true-crime podcasts stating Octavia Spence as the podcaster Poppy Scoville who risks her life in pursuit of truth and justice,
Based on the novel by Kathleen Barber, the series provides a unique glimpse into America’s obsession with true crime podcasts and challenges its viewers to consider the consequences when the pursuit of justice is placed on a public stage.
