Apple TV+ launched a new “kids’ changemakers initiative” to brings stories from leading educationalists and creative storytellers

In partnership with world-renowned education leaders and creative storytellers, Apple TV+ has launched a new “kids’ changemakers initiative” to produce enriching and inspiring original stories for kids. Under the new initiative, creative heads will craft stories that encourage imagination, critical thinking, and self-confidence.

Tara Sorensen, Apple’s head of kids programming said:

Currently, Apple TV+ offers a growing library of kids’ content for Preschoolers, big kids, parents, and kids at heart like Snoopy and Peanuts, Wolfwalkers, El Deafo, Fraggle Rock Back to the Rock, and many more.

And, as per the announcement, Apple TV+ is collaborating with the following educators for a growing slate of kids titles:

  • Nichole Pinkard, Ph.D. – associate professor in the School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University
  • Michele Borba – educational psychologist and best-selling author
  • Junlei Li, Ph.D. – Saul Zaentz, senior lecturer in Early Childhood Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education
  • Cathy Davidson, Ph.D. – founding director of the Futures Initiative and a distinguished professor in the Ph.D. Program in English at the Graduate Center, CUNY and in the MA Program in Digital Humanities and the MS Program in Data Analysis and Visualization
  • Christina Katopodis, Ph.D – executive director and postdoctoral fellow at Transformative Learning in the Humanities
  • John F. Evans – writing clinician and integrative health coach
  • Lucy Calkins Ph.D. – head of teachers College Reading and Writing Project, Columbia University’s school of education
  • Gail F. Melson, Ph.D. – professor emerita in the Department of Human Development & Family Studies, Purdue University
  • Kate Robinson – author; chief content officer, Imagine If…
  • Tovah Klein, Ph.D. – director of the Barnard College Center for Toddler Development and Adjunct Associate Professor
  • Sonja Lyubomirsky, Ph.D. – distinguished professor, University of California, Riverside, specializes in the scientific study of happiness
  • Dan Siegel, M.D. – clinical professor of Psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine and the founding co-director of the Mindful Awareness Research Center at UCLA
