Apple TV+ has announced the premiere date of its upcoming Korean drama series “Pachinko”. The new international series will debut, globally, on March 25, 2022, with the first 3-episodes of the 8-episodes series and a new episode will air every Friday till April 29, 2022.
The highly anticipated series is an adaptation of the New York Times best-selling acclaimed novel by the same name and will be told in three languages: Korean, Japanese, and English. “Pachinko” is executive produced and written by Soo Hugh, who is also the creator and showrunner of the series.

The internationally renowned cast of the series stars Lee Minho as Hansu, Minha Kim as teenage Sunja, Soji Arai as Mozasu, Inji Jeong as Yangjin, Jin Ha as Solomon, Kaho Minami as Etsuko, Steve Sanghyun Noh as Isak, Anna Sawai as Naomi, Junwoo Han as Yoseb, and others.
They tell the story of a forbidden love saga that journeys through Korea, Japan, and America. Soo Hugh explains that the series is a tribute to his ancestry roots and a life-changing experience for him as a person.
“They say there are those projects that come along and change the very core of who you are as a filmmaker and a person. Undoubtedly, ‘Pachinko’ is that project for me. Not only is this a story of my forebears, it’s my tribute to them — to all of the Sunjas buried deep in all of our family’s history. It’s been an incredible honor to bring this series to life with this dedicated and gifted cast and crew.”
The series is also executive produced by Kogonada and Justin Chon, who also directed four episodes each, Media Res’ Dani Gorin co-executive produces along with Richard Middleton, David Kim, and Sebastian Lee, Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer for Media Res, and Theresa Kang-Lowe for Blue Marble Pictures.
Apple TV+ is not only expanding its English titles but also content in foreign languages. After launching “Tehran” and Dr. Brain, the new Pachinko will be the third series in a foreign language on the video streaming service.
