Apple TV+ original film, Palmer is out now. Director by Fisher Stevens, the movie is an emotional drama starring singer Justin Timberlake, Juno Temple, Ryder Allen, Alisha Wainwright, and others. The video streaming service announced the release of Palmer in July 2020 and recently introduced its first trailer.
Cupertino tech giant launched Apple TV+, in late 2019, as an all-original content video streaming service for a monthly subscription fee. Another Apple TV+ original film “Cherry” – directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and starring Tom Holland will release in theaters on February 26 ahead of streaming on Apple TV+ starting on March 12. Previously, the service successfully premiered ‘Greyhound’ starring Tom Hanks last year.
Apple TV+ original drama movie ‘Palmer’ is available
The movie is a redemption story of former high school football player, Eddie Palmer, played by Justin Timberlake, who returns to his unaccepting community after serving 12 years in prison. While trying to adjust back to society, Palmer finds himself taking care of and getting close to a young boy, Sam, after his wayward mother abandons him. Sam’s unconventional and unapologetic personality, helps Palmer to explore a new outlook on life and the two establish a unique bond of love, friendship, and acceptance.
“Palmer” joins Apple original films including the recently announced “Snow Blind,” with Jake Gyllenhaal attached to star; Martin Scorsese’s forthcoming “Killers of the Flower Moon,” starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro; “Emancipation,” from director Antoine Fuqua and starring and produced by Academy Award nominee Will Smith; “Sharper,” a new film from Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka, starring and produced by Academy Award winner Julianne Moore; “The Sky is Everywhere,” based on the best-selling YA novel of the same name; and the upcoming feature “On the Rocks” from Sofia Coppola, starring Bill Murray and Rashida Jones.
Subscribers can expect more exciting content on the service in the future; last year, Apple studio signed multi-year deals with renowned filmmaker Martin Scorsese, producer Idris Elba to make exclusive movies and television shows. Apple TV+ team has also acquired rights to produce a new graphic novel adaptation thriller ‘Snow Blind’ starring Jake Gyllenhaal and will produce ‘Kitbag’, the Napoleon Bonaparte epic in partnership with Scott Free. The new movie will be directed by Ridley Scott and star Joaquin Phoenix, the Oscar-winning actor of the movie, Joker.
Apple TV+ is available across Apple devices via the Apple TV app and on tv.apple.com for $4.99 per month with a 7 days free trial. Subscribers can also enjoy the service for a discount price via Apple One bundles. AppleTV+ is compatible with select Samsung, LG smart TV sets, and Roku devices. It is also available on PlayStation, Xbox, and other third-party devices.
