Apple TV+ recently shared the first trailer for its upcoming musical comedy Schmigadoon! which will become available on the streaming service on July 16. The first two episodes of the six-part series will drop on that date with new ones being added weekly. Starring Emmy Award winner Keegan-Michael Key and executive produced by Lorne Michaels, the series is a parody of iconic musicals.
Apple TV+ drops trailer ‘Schmigadoon!’ ahead of July 16 premier
Schmigadoon! follows a couple as they go on a backpacking trip in an effort to reinvigorate their relationship. On this trip, they discover a magical town in which everyone is living in a studio musical from the 1940s.
The Schmigadoon! trailer begins with the couple arguing on their trip. Things suddenly become odd when they find themselves stuck in a strange place where people around them randomly start performing musical numbers.

In addition to Keegan-Michael Key and Cecily Strong, the start-studded cast of the first season also features Alan Cumming, Kristin Chenoweth, Aaron Tveit, Dove Cameron, Ariana DeBose, Fred Armisen, Jaime Camil, Jane Krakowski, and Ann Harada.
To enjoy Schmigadoon! when it premieres, viewers will need a subscription to Apple’s streaming service. For $4.99 per month, Apple TV+ is available on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, Apple TV via the Apple TV app. The app is also compatible with selected Samsung and LG smart TVs, Roku devices, Amazon Fire TV.
