Apple TV+ has ordered a new drama series “Land of Women” starring Eva Longoria and Carmen Maura. Inspired by the bestselling novel of the same name by award-winning author Sandra Barneda, the new series is created and written by Ramon Campos and Gema R. Neira.
Currently in pre-production in Spain, “Land of Women” is directed by Carlos Sedes, and executive produced by Ramón Campos, Fernández-Valdés, Ben Spector, and Longoria through her production company UnbeliEVAble Entertainment. The series is produced by Bambu Studios for Apple TV+.

Showcasing the lives of three women on the run, “Land of Women” stars Eva Longoria as the leading character Gala and Carmen Maura as her mother. The women flee their abode in New York along with Gala’s daughter to hide from debt collectors after her vanished husband.
Their plight takes them back to Gala’s mother’s hometown in Spain which unravels the old family secrets and more. “Land of Women” will be shot and available in English and Spanish languages.
“Land of Women” is a dramedy starring Longoria as Gala, a New York empty nester whose life is turned upside down when her husband implicates the family in financial improprieties, and she is forced to flee the city alongside her aging mother and college-age daughter.
To escape the dangerous criminals to whom Gala’s now vanished husband is indebted, the three women hide in the same charming wine town in northern Spain that Gala’s mother fled 50 years ago, vowing never to return. The women seek to start anew and hope their identities will remain unknown, but gossip in the small town quickly spreads, unraveling their deepest family secrets and truths.
The new series will join other Apple TV+ female-lead shows and movies like “Loot”, “Surface”, “Surfside Girls”, “Luck”, “The Morning Show”, “Physical” and others.
