Apple TV+ new metaphysical thriller series “Shining Girls” is scheduled to premiere on Friday, April 29, 2022, and ahead of its release, the streaming service has introduced its gripping trailer which showcases the perplexed life of a serial killer’s survivor, Kirby Mazrachi played by Emmy Award-winning actress, Elisabeth Moss who also serves as the director and executive producer of the new series.
Based on Lauren Beukes’ bestselling novel by the same name, “Shining Girls” is adapted for television by showrunner Silka Luisa and directed by Michelle MacLaren, Daina Reid, Lindsey McManus along with Moss. Other executive producers of the show are Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Davisson, and Michael Hampton through Appian Way from MRC Television, McManus, MacLaren, Rebecca Hobbs, Reid, author Beukes, and Alan Page Arriaga.

The befitting teaser of the upcoming showcases the perplexed Kirby Mazrachi living in a turmoiled reality after surviving a horrific murder attempt. Her life gets more complicated when a young woman is murdered in the same way as she was attacked. Mazrachi’s pursuit to identify the murders invokes even more trauma.
Based on Lauren Beukes’ bestselling novel, “Shining Girls” follows Kirby Mazrachi (Moss), a Chicago newspaper archivist whose journalistic ambitions were put on hold after enduring a traumatic assault. When Kirby learns that a recent murder mirrors her own case, she partners with seasoned, yet troubled reporter Dan Velazquez (played by Wagner Moura), to uncover her attacker’s identity. As they realize these cold cases are inextricably linked, their own personal traumas and Kirby’s blurred reality allow her assailant to remain one step ahead. In addition to Moss and Moura, the gripping drama stars Phillipa Soo, Amy Brenneman and Jamie Bell.
Recently, Apple TV+ announced another thrilling series “Dark Matter” which is an adaptation of acclaimed author Blake Crouch’s best-selling science fiction novel by the same name. The new show will showcase the journey of a man who is trying to come back to his family and reality through a multiverse of the lives he could have had.
