Apple TV+ multi-award-winning comedy series ‘Ted Lasso’ has won four awards at the Hollywood Critics Associated Awards. Written, and produced by Jason Sudeikis, who plays the lead character, the series has been a massive hit with the audience worldwide, since the launch of the show’s season 1 in August 2020.
In addition to several nominations, the show has won three Critics Choice Awards for Best Comedy category, Best Actor in a Comedy Series, and Best supporting actress in a comedy series and Writer Guild of America Awards for Best Comedy and New Series, and three Critics Choice Awards for Best Comedy category, Best Actor in a Comedy Series, and Best supporting actress in a comedy series.
Apple TV+ is crowned the Best Comedy Streaming Series by Hollywood Critics Associated Awards
For his acting, Jason Sudeikis has won the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series in the Musical or Comedy category and Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series.
And now out of 15, the show bagged four awards in the following categories:
- Best Streaming Series, Comedy
- Best Actor in a Streaming Series, Comedy by Jason Sudeikis
- Best Supporting Actor in a Streaming Series, Comedy by Brett Goldstein
- Best Supporting Actress in a Streaming Series, Comedy by Hannah Waddingham
Season 2 of the show premiered on July 23, 2021, and in the opening week, it topped the charts in the TV shows charts as the most-watched show in the United States and worldwide. In addition, season 2 had the biggest weekend opening of a show on Apple TV+ that increased the video streaming service’s week-over-week viewership drastically and had a halo effect which boosted the viewership of other comedies on Apple TV+, Physical and Mythical Quest.
