Apple TV+ has released the teaser for its upcoming series “Roar” ahead of its premiere on April 15, 2022. Based on the book of the best-selling author Cecelia Ahern, the new series is a collection of eight genre-bending stories of eight different women through the lens of “magical realism” and to offer insightful, poignant, and sometimes hilarious life experiences of today’s women.
The new series is created and executive produced by Flahive and Mensch. It is also executive produced by Nicole Kidman with Per Saari and their Emmy Award-winning Blossom Films, Ahern through Greenlight Go, and Theresa Park for Per Capita Production. Endeavor Content produced “Roar” for Apple.

Starring Nicole Kidman, Issa Rae, Cynthia Erivo, Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin, Merritt Wever, Meera Syal, Kara Hayward and Fivel Stewart, the upcoming series will take the audience through the struggles women place in various social and gender roles of a wife, mother, corporate boss, and the most important role of all, a woman.
The first trailer of “Roar” gives a glimpse of the eight stories that capsulate the challenges and prejudice women face around the world, irrespective of their color or creed. The eight unique stories of a woman who eats pictures, a mother with a violent child, a patriarchal husband, a murdered young woman, an author, a woman who loves horses, an unsatisfied wife, and a woman fed by a duck are likely to resonate with today’s women everywhere.
“Roar” is an anthology series of darkly comic feminist fables. Spanning genres from magical realism to psychological horror, these eight stand-alone stories feature ordinary women in some pretty extraordinary circumstances. In “Roar,” women eat photographs, date ducks, live on shelves like trophies. And yet, their struggles are universal.
