Ahead of its global release on October 14, Apple TV+ has released the trailer for “Shantaram” a highly anticipated thriller drama series. Based on the International bestselling novel of the same name by Gregory David Roberts, the new series stars Charlie Hunnam from the “Sons of Anarchy” which marks his return to television after eight years.
Steve Lightfoot has written and co-created “Shantaram” with Eric Warren Singer. Directed by Bharat Nalluri, the show is executive produced by Andrea Barron, Nicole Clemens, Steve Golin, and Justin Kurzel, along with Lightfoot, Singer, and Nalluri. Paramount Television Studios and Anonymous Content’s AC Studios have produced the show for Apple.

Starring Hunnam as a fugitive named Lin Ford, the first look trailer for “Shantaram” showcases his tumultuous life in the busy streets of Bombay, India. But trouble eventually caught up to him and he fell in love with an enticing woman, Karla.
“Shantaram” follows a fugitive named Lin Ford (Hunnam) looking to get lost in vibrant and chaotic 1980s Bombay. Alone in an unfamiliar city, Lin struggles to avoid the trouble he’s running from in this new place. After falling for an enigmatic and intriguing woman named Karla, Lin must choose between freedom or love and the complications that come with it.
The series also stars Shubham Saraf, Fayssal Bazzi, Elektra Kilbey, Antonia Desplat, Alyy Khan, Sujaya Dasgupta, Luke Pasqualino, Vincent Perez, Alexander Siddig, David Field, Gabrielle Scharnitzky, Elham Ehsas, and others.
Next month, Apple TV+ will also premiere “The Sound of 007” James Bond documentary.
