Apple has released the second developer betas for visionOS 2.4, tvOS 18.4, and watchOS 11.4, continuing its cycle of refining upcoming software updates. These latest betas arrive two weeks after the first round, bringing new features and improvements for Apple’s platforms.
Among the three, visionOS 2.4 stands out as it introduces Apple Intelligence to the Vision Pro for the first time. The integration of AI-powered features enhances the user experience with tools such as Writing Tools, Genmoji, Memory Movie, Image Playground, Priority Notifications, and ChatGPT integration. Additionally, visionOS 2.4 includes a dedicated Spatial Gallery app, offering a curated collection of spatial videos, photos, and panoramas from artists, filmmakers, and photographers. Apple is also launching a Vision Pro companion app for iPhone, enabling users to manage their headset, discover apps, and add content to a watch list.
A major quality-of-life improvement in visionOS 2.4 and iOS 18.4 is the ability to set up Guest Mode on the Vision Pro using an iPhone. When a guest puts on the headset, the Vision Pro owner receives a prompt on their iPhone, allowing them to control which apps the guest can access and even monitor their activity via AirPlay. Siri, however, remains unchanged in this update, with Apple stating that new Siri capabilities will roll out throughout the year.
For watchOS 11.4, Apple is expected to introduce new emojis. Unicode previewed seven new additions, including a face with bags under the eyes, a fingerprint, a leafless tree, a root vegetable, a harp, a shovel, and a splatter. Previous watchOS updates have brought emoji expansions and Siri enhancements, and while Apple Intelligence is not yet available on the Apple Watch, improvements to Siri could still be part of the final release.
tvOS 18.4, on the other hand, is a minor update. It features some new UI elements in the TV app, but its major anticipated additions—new screensavers and robot vacuum support—remain unconfirmed. Apple previously referenced two new screensavers in earlier beta testing, but they were later removed, making it unclear whether they will return in this update or be saved for tvOS 19.
Apple plans to release visionOS 2.4, tvOS 18.4, and watchOS 11.4 in early April. As with all beta software, Apple advises against installing these updates on primary devices due to potential bugs and stability issues. Developers and testers can explore the latest changes while awaiting further refinements in future beta iterations.
