The announcement of the long-rumored Apple Watch Pro is just around the corner. Ahead of its unveiling, a new report has revealed that the Cupertino tech giant will release a bunch of new watch bands as well as fitness-centered watch faces for the new device.
Apple Watch Pro will be compatible with older bands, but consumers will have a bunch of new options available
Apple already offers exclusive bands for certain Apple Watch models. It has collaborated with luxury brand Hermès as well as sports brand Nike to create special-edition models with special bands and watch faces. Now, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman is reporting that the upcoming Apple Watch Pro will also receive some special attention with new watch bands.
This isn’t covered in the CAD drawings, but the new set of bands for the Apple Watch Pro is going to be pretty wide ranging and play into the extreme sports theme. There will also be some pretty info dense faces for fitness metrics.
A third-party case for the Apple Watch Pro was leaked pretty recently and it definitely plays into “the extreme sports theme,” as predicted by Gurman. Rather than traditional Apple Watch bands, the Pro bands might be clunkier and made of heavier-duty materials.
In addition to this, the device is rumored to feature a 49mm display along with new physical buttons and a protrusion to house the Digital Crown, microphone, and multitasking button. Gurman has previously stated that the Apple Watch Pro will feature a larger, more shatter-resistant display.
As for its functionalities, Gurman has previously said that the Apple Watch Pro will offer enhanced hiking and swim tracking along with improved battery life, making it the perfect companion device for athletes.
We also predict that all models in the upcoming Apple Watch Series 8 lineup will feature the S8 processor. Furthermore, the standard Apple Watch Series 8 model as well as the Apple Watch Pro will come equipped with a new body temperature sensor.
As for the price tag, the journalist recently reiterated that the upcoming Apple Watch Pro could ”come in at least $900 to $1,000, topping the current Apple Watch Edition.”
The Apple Watch Pro is expected to be announced tomorrow at Apple’s special fall 2022 event “Far Out,” on September 7 alongside the iPhone 14 lineup and possibly the second-generation AirPods Pro.
