Apple Watch SE has received a new upgrade, USB-C charging cable. The new faster-charging cable designed for the latest Apple Watch Series 7 will now be in the box of the mid-range smartwatch model. The new cable has replaced the older USB-A cable.
Last year, Apple switched iPhone 12 series to USB-C to Lightning charging cable, compatible with a USB-C power adaptor. Now, those adaptors can be used to charge more devices like the Apple Watch SE. The older USB-A charging cable is discontinued and it is no longer available on apple.com.
However, it must be noted that the new USB-C charging cable will charge other compatible smartwatch models at regular charge time and it only supports fast charging for Apple Watch Series 7 which comes with a new charging architecture to give 80% battery in 45 minutes.
We wanted to make charging your Apple Watch utterly effortless. And now, it charges up to 33% faster when paired with Apple Watch Series 7, so you can reach 80% charge in about 45 minutes.¹ Simply hold the connector near the back of the watch, where magnets cause it to snap into place automatically. It’s a completely sealed system free of exposed contacts. And it’s very forgiving, requiring no precise alignment.
Fast charging is only compatible with Apple Watch Series 7. Other models will have regular charge times. – Apple
