Apple Watch Series 7 comes with a “reengineered” Always-On Retina display with a larger screen and thinner borders than the predecessor model. The tech giant has designed exclusive watch faces for the new and larger display: Contour and Modular Duo.
Apple offers bigger 41mm and 45mm size models in the Apple Watch Series 7 by maximizing “the screen area while minimally changing the dimensions of the overall case size.” The improved Always-On Retina display is up to 70 percent brighter indoors, when the wrist is down, so users can easily see the watch face without lifting their wrists or waking the display.
Apple Watch Series 7’s new watch faces
The new Contour watch face has a very minimalist design without complications. With the hour hands in the center, the dial is pushed to the edge of the display and as the day progresses, the current hour is animated.
The new Modular Duo watch face takes advantage of the larger display with two large data-rich center complications. Users can choose to display the weather complication to see the conditions throughout the day, heart rate monitoring, or others.
The updated classic World Time watch face tracks 24 time zones around a double dial. The design of this watch face is based on heritage watches and is ideal for travelers.
The new Nike Bounce watch face for Apple Watch Nike models has a dynamically animated design that changes but tapping on the screen, moving of the wrist, and scrolling the Digital Crown.
For Apple Watch Hermès models, the new watch face shows the number of the current hour and changes throughout the day as the hour changes.
