Contrary to previous rumors and CAD renders, Apple will not be redesigning the Apple Watch Series 8. However, the extreme sports or the “Pro” model will likely receive some upgrades. A new design with flat edges was first rumored to be added to Apple Watch Series 7, maybe the 2023 lineup will finally see a redesign.
Apple Watch Series 8 ‘Pro’ model expected to receive several improvements over standard model
Prolific leaker ShrimpApplePro, the external design of the Apple Watch Series 8 model will be virtually the same as the Apple Watch Series 7. Both will sport 41mm and 45mm displays and the same dimensions. The leaker goes on to say that there do not seem to be any new sensors “visually.”
In addition to this, the standard Series 8 will be available in aluminum and stainless steel finishes. As for the colors, Midnight, Starlight, Product(RED), and Silver will be available in the aluminum finish. The stainless steel models will be available in Graphite and Silver.
As for the “Pro” version of the Apple Watch Series 8, the leaker says its externals will be made out of titanium, In line with previous rumors. Aside from this, ShrimpApplePro does not offer any further details on the higher-end Series 8 model.
The leaker also says the box the device will be shipped in will be sealed with stronger glue, making it more difficult for third-party sellers to sell a used Watch as new.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has revealed quite a few details about the upcoming rugged Apple Watch. The new model the rugged Apple Watch will feature a larger, more shatter-resistant display and It will also offer enhanced hiking and swim tracking along with longer battery life. Gurman has also confirmed that the Pro model will feature a titanium casing saying, “In terms of materials, the watch will have a more durable formulation of titanium to make it extra rugged.”
The journalist has stated over and over again that all models in Apple Watch Series 8 lineup will feature the S8 processer. Last year’s Apple Watch models come equipped with the S7 chip but the processor features the same specifications as the S6 chip, making the chip two years old. With that being said, the processor will likely offer gains in efficiency.
Gurman predicts the rugged Apple Watch, which is set to feature a larger display, new sensors, and more expensive materials, could from $900 or $999.e new devices.
