Apple Watch Ultra 3 will focus on internal tweaks

Apple’s upcoming wearable, the Apple Watch Ultra 3, has been the subject of much speculation in recent months. While initial reports suggested that the release of the new model was uncertain, recent information from renowned TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo indicates that the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is indeed on track for a 2024 release. However, don’t expect groundbreaking hardware upgrades, as Kuo suggests that the new model will feature “almost no” hardware improvements compared to its predecessor, the Apple Watch Ultra 2.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 will offer minimal hardware upgrades compared to the Ultra 2. This news might disappoint users who were hoping for significant improvements. However, it’s worth noting that the Ultra 2 itself was only a minor upgrade over the original Apple Watch Ultra.

While Kuo didn’t provide specific details about the changes we can expect to see in the Apple Watch Ultra 3, the new model will likely focus on refining existing technologies rather than introducing groundbreaking new features. Rumors suggest that the Ultra 3 may include blood pressure sensing and sleep apnea detection features, similar to those rumored for the upcoming Apple Watch Series 10.

The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is expected to be announced in September, alongside the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models. This release timeline aligns with Apple’s typical product launch cycle.

In addition to the Ultra 3, Apple may also introduce a third-generation Apple Watch SE this year. While details about the new SE model remain scarce, it’s likely to feature at least an S9 chip, based on an A15 Bionic chip.

As the Apple Watch approaches its 10th anniversary, rumors suggest that Apple may release a special edition called the Apple Watch X. This anniversary model could feature significant design changes and is expected to launch in 2024 or 2025.

The Apple Watch Ultra 3 might lack revolutionary hardware upgrades, but it’s positioned to improve upon the Apple Watch Ultra 2 in key areas. We can expect refinements to areas like battery life, GPS performance, and durability. Additionally, the introduction of anticipated features like blood pressure monitoring and sleep apnea detection could significantly enhance the Ultra 3’s health and wellness capabilities.

Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the official launch of Apple’s next-generation smartwatch.
