According to a new report, the Apple Watch Ultra features a 542mAh battery. For comparison, the larger 45mm Apple Watch Series 8 features a 308mAh battery.
Apple Watch Ultra battery specification revealed in Chinese certification database
The certification, first seen by MySmartPrice, revealed that the new higher-end Apple Watch comes equipped with a 542mAh battery making it the perfect companion for long adventures.
Along with confirming the battery size of the Apple Watch Ultra, the document also confirms that the 41mm Series 8 features a battery capacity of 282mAh, while the Series 7 features a 284mAh battery. The 45mm size Series 8 also has the same battery capacity as the 45mm Series 7. In addition, the documents confirm that the CPU of the Apple Watch Series 8 is the same as the one in Series 6 and Series 7.
The new Apple Watch Ultra is touted to offer up to 36 hours of battery life, however, it can go up to 60 hours with a new Low Power Mode.
Unlike the older Low Power Mode for Apple Watch, the new Low Power Mode in watchOS 9 disables some background features of the watch, while maintaining core functionality to ensure that users can get more battery life.
Specifically, the new Low Power Mode will turn off the following features:
- Always On display
- Heart rate notifications for irregular rhythm, high heart rate, and low heart rate
- Background heart rate measurements
- Background blood oxygen measurements
- Start workout reminder
The new Low Power Mode is especially helpful for users who may have to be away from a power source or watch charger for extended periods of time, as it will allow them to continue using their Apple Watch with minimum impact on functionality.
