Latest Apple Watch X leaks reveal design tweaks, titanium build, and new sizes

Apple’s upcoming, “It’s Glowtime,” event on September 9th is set to unveil the highly anticipated Apple Watch Series 10, also known as the Apple Watch X, alongside other flagship devices like the iPhone 16. As rumors swirl around the tenth-anniversary model, expectations for a significant redesign are high, but the leaks are conflicting.

Apple Watch Series 9

Initially, there were claims that the Apple Watch X would feature a flat display similar to the Apple Watch Ultra. However, recent leaks by Majin Bu suggest that the display will remain curved, similar to previous models while introducing new size options—42mm and 46mm. This is a slight bump from the 41mm and 45mm of the Series 9, but still smaller than the 49mm of the Ultra.

One of the most significant changes reportedly coming to the Apple Watch X is the transition from stainless steel to titanium, bringing the regular models in line with the Apple Watch Ultra’s materials. The new model is expected to come in four color options: Gold, Black, Starlight, and Natural Titanium. There is also speculation that a ceramic version might be available, adding to the premium feel of the lineup.

Apple Watch Ultra 2 design

Design-wise, the Apple Watch X is rumored to feature a thinner and more rounded body, with a speaker design reminiscent of the Ultra. The Milanese Loop, a staple of the Apple Watch since its inception, is also expected to receive an update, with a titanium build replacing the traditional stainless steel.

While the flat display rumor may have been debunked, there is still much excitement about the other potential upgrades. The new magnetic band system could revolutionize how users swap out bands, offering more convenience and security. Additionally, the larger displays might allow for more detailed watch faces and improved interaction.

Under the hood, the Apple Watch X is expected to be powered by the new S10 chip, promising enhanced performance and efficiency. This could enable more complex tasks and support advanced functionalities like improved voice recognition and personalized health insights.

However, not all the rumored features may make it into the final product. The inclusion of a blood pressure sensor, for example, might be delayed due to technical challenges. Similarly, legal issues surrounding the use of blood oxygen sensors could limit the watch’s health monitoring capabilities.
