Recently, Apple introduced a new battery percentage icon on iPhones with a notch in the iOS 16 beta 5 update. Now, the Batteries app by developer Rony Fadel has been updated to offer the same feature on Mac.
At the launch of the iPhone X in 2017, Apple removed the battery percentage icon from the iOS status bar and replaced it with an animated battery icon that changes colors to indicate the percentage of power left: green for up to 100%, yellow for to up 50% and red for up to 20%.
Although macOS already displays battery percentage, it appears outside the battery icon. So, Mac users can now get the new battery icon coming to iOS 16 on their Macs through the Batteries app.
Get the Batteries app for $8.99 to enjoy a new battery percentage UI and more on Mac
Batteries app for Mac is designed as a tracker for users to keep a check on the battery levels of all of their Apple devices and Bluetooth peripherals. It displays the battery levels of all active devices and sends notifications when a device needs charging. Mac users can also see the battery percentage of devices in the Touch Bar on their Mac.
Now, the updated Batteries app will show the battery percentage in the battery icon like on iOS 16 beta 5 to offer a uniform experience across iOS and macOS.
Interested Mac users can download the Batteries app from Setapp for $8.99 or purchase a subscription bundle for $9.99.
