Actual battery capacities revealed for iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro

A Chinese regulatory database has shared the battery capacity of all four iPhone 14 models ahead of their launch on September 16 except for iPhone 14 Plus. According to the information, the latest standard models have more battery capacity than its predecessor.

Without mentioning the exact battery capacities of iPhone 14 models, Apple said that the new lineup features “all-day battery life”. In comparison to iPhone 13 lineup, each model of the iPhone 14 series delivers an additional hour of video playback.

In the new series, only iPhone 14 Pro Max has a smaller battery than its predecessor iPhone 13 Pro Max

MacRumors obtained the iPhone 14 battery capacity information from the same source that accurately revealed the battery capacities of the iPhone 13 series and the 2021 Apple Silicon MacBook Pro models.

Apple replaced the 5.4-inch mini model with the new larger 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Plus model, so it will not be fair to compare their battery capacities. But the battery capacity of the new 6.1-inch iPhone 14 is more than iPhone 13 which means the new standard lineup has longer battery life than last year’s.

In the new Pro lineup, the 6.1-inch model has a larger battery than iPhone 13 Pro but the 6.7-inch model has a slightly smaller battery than iPhone 13 Pro Max. Maybe the more power-efficient A16 chip and Always-On display with a 1Hz refresh rate make up for the small battery capacity difference.
