Beats has a history of collaborating with various brands and celebrities for special editions of their products. For this particular release, Beats have explained the collaboration between both brands as a result of inspiration from Shibuya, a special commercial ward in Tokyo, popular for its neon lights at night. The color for these limited edit Powerbeats represents the same neon glow.

That simple idea translated into the latest Beats / AMBUSH collaboration: a limited run of glow-in-the-dark Powerbeats that shine with the brilliant glow of Shibuya. It’s the first glow-in-the-dark headphone from Beats, breaking new ground for the brand.

AMBUSH co-founder Yoon Ahn was part of this collaboration, shared how Shibuya’s glow and her passion for music inspired her.

“When I walk around Shibuya, I always listen to music,” says Yoon. “So I was like, ‘It would be cool if what I’m listening to also glowed and became part of the environment.’”

Along with the unique color and branding, these Powerbeats 4 feature the same great audio quality as the more expensive Powerbeats Pro, feature 15 hours of battery life with a 5-minute quick charge that provides 1 hour of listening time, and Apple’s H1 chip support for instant connectivity, audio sharing, hands-free “Hey Siri”, and instant switching between Apple devices starting with iOS 14 and macOS Big Sur. The Powerbeats are also sweat and water-resistant which makes them the perfect companions for a run or heavy workouts.

Starting from November 18, these special edition AMBUSH Powerbeats will be available for $199.95. The regular Powerbeats variants are available for $149.95. The Powerbeats will be available on Apple’s website, Dover Street Market, and Nordstrom.
