Beats Studio Buds references found in iOS 14.6 and tvOS 14.6 code

References to new Beats Studio Buds have been found in iOS 14.6 and tvOS 14.6 release candidate files, as discovered by developer Steve Moser. The new earbuds have a unique design and do not resemble any previously launched Beats headphones or AirPods and look more like offerings from both low and high-end competitors.

Beats Studio Buds revealed in iOS 14.6

Beats Studio Buds have a pill-shaped charging box and will ship in three colors: red, black, and white. Unlike AirPods, they have no extended microphone stems. If you have seen the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro, these will look very familiar.

It is unclear as to what the price range for these headphones will be when they will launch and whether they will support Apple Music Spatial Audio. It is highly likely that these features will be supported as all new wireless Beats headphones ship with an H1 chip.

Steve Moser has posted a bunch of animations of Beats Studio Buds in various states such as connected, charging, fully charged, repair, and more. However, the animations only show the Beats Studio Buds in black color. It is possible that these animations will show in iOS pop-up when connected, similar to the pop-up that shows for AirPods or other W1 or H1 chip compatible Beats headphones.

These new Beats headphones also make us question the speculation from Jon Prosser that Apple is planning to phase out its Beats brand. So far, there have been no signs of Apple doing so as the company has not only been launching new Beats headphones, it has also been launching customized versions in collaboration with various artists and celebrities such as PowerBeats Pro Faze Clan edition.

It has also been rumored that Apple is ready to announce its third-generation AirPods however, many dates have passed but we have yet to see an official announcement.
