The wait is quickly over. George has released blackra1n, the jailbreak tool for iPod Touch and iPhone firmware 3.1.2, for Mac OS X. It works exactly the same way as our guide for jailbreaking using blackra1n on Windows defined. There’s no word yet whether it supports the 3G 8GB iPod Touch as mentioned in our troubleshoot guide. Do let us know if it works for you in the comments below, and if you have issues don’t hesitate to ask. We’ll do our best to help you out!
Note: Do not try this if you want to keep using your unlocked iPhone, iPhone 3G or iPhone 3G S because it upgrades your baseband which will disable your unlock.

Hi, i just downloaded blackr1n for mac and opened it and clicked “let it rain” and everything, but it goes into normal recovery mode and doesnt come out until i pull the sync cable out. Then i reboot it and everything is there BUT blackra1n. Any help would be appreciated.
i have a ipod touch 3g 8gb. after starting blackra1n my ipod shust down and never reboots . in order to start it i have to restore, which brings me back to square 1. plz help :(
I have the exact same problem as tony! i also have a never before used ipod touch 3g 8gb and i tried blackrain twice. it would get stuck in recovery mode….. help?
I have tried blackra1n in my 8gb itouch many times. It doesn't work. After I install blackra1n everything goes as you described but at last my itouch goes dead. Nothing seems to bring it to life unless I restore the the factory setting. I tried pressing power button and home key for more than 30 seconds still no response.

I just used Blackra1n (Mac) with my new iPod Touch 32 GB and it works fine. I wanted to use Demogod in order to teach folks how to use some apps in education so after research determined that the steps: Demogod/Cydia/Screensplitr was the way to go. Once I realized that George was serious about tethered and that whenever I turned off the iPod I would have to restore Apple settings and go through the process all over again, everything was fine. Hoping for an untethered version sometime in the future, but can live with what I've got — thanks.

im running os x on mac and 3.1.2 on ipod touch 8gb 2nd gen. i ran blackra1n like 10 time and has not work yet. i download blackra1n and put in ipod and press make it ra1n and will not work. goes to the ipod to itunes connect screen. any help please. thanks

hi i blackrained my ipod touch and everythink went well. i shut it down for the night and this morning whan i wanted to turn it on it's keep showing me to plug in itunes and says that i have to do recovey mode ..

I have the same problem as many people do I keep hitting the make it rain button and everything works great until it starts to reboot then it gets stuck on the connect to itunes picture and doesn’t do anything till i restore my ipod please help!

I Jailbroke my ipod touch 2gen 16Gb a few weeks ago and had a few bugs like the speakers stopped working at one pouint which i fixed by just restarting my ipod however recently i tried to get to an internet page google.co.uk and it just exited safari and went back to the screen of apps, this was a small inconvinience so i ignored it but now when i try and get on to any site it says connecting and shows a spinning symbol but i wait and wait and it never loads (im talking 20 minutes for yahoo.com – never loaded) and since this new bug when i try and access itunes/app store on my ipod it says invalid argument so i cant use the app store however everything else seams normal however internet is important to me.

Blackra1n worked great on my 3gs 3.1.2. Until today. The phone froze, after I rebooted it the blackra1n does not work. It gets stuck with the pic on the phone. Eventually it just reboots to the iTunes logo… Ideas help.

i got a ipod touch 3rd gen and just recentlu updated my itunes when i click make it rain my ipod screen shows the logo and cord n then goes black and the davinci lookin face doesnt come up so i dont think you can jailbreak the newest ipod with the newest itunes or unless its just this ipod idk if you have any suggestios whatsoever tel me what i should to

AWSOME worked perfect clicked make it rain and it did everything for me it took a while to reboot but jus be patient. all up it took bout 2 minutes. STOKED!
