The wait is quickly over. George has released blackra1n, the jailbreak tool for iPod Touch and iPhone firmware 3.1.2, for Mac OS X. It works exactly the same way as our guide for jailbreaking using blackra1n on Windows defined. There’s no word yet whether it supports the 3G 8GB iPod Touch as mentioned in our troubleshoot guide. Do let us know if it works for you in the comments below, and if you have issues don’t hesitate to ask. We’ll do our best to help you out!
Note: Do not try this if you want to keep using your unlocked iPhone, iPhone 3G or iPhone 3G S because it upgrades your baseband which will disable your unlock.

hi does anything work for the ipod touch 3rd gen 3.1.2? i got it for christmas 09 and im not sure if there is any out there that work and no tutorial for it either

Yes this black rain thing will work for the 3rd gen 8gb iPod toiuch cuz my friend just jailbroke it with this download
Blackra1n worked great on my 3gs 3.1.2. Until today. The phone froze, after I rebooted it the blackra1n does not work. It gets stuck with the pic on the phone. Eventually it just reboots to the iTunes logo… Ideas help.

i got a ipod touch 3rd gen and just recentlu updated my itunes when i click make it rain my ipod screen shows the logo and cord n then goes black and the davinci lookin face doesnt come up so i dont think you can jailbreak the newest ipod with the newest itunes or unless its just this ipod idk if you have any suggestios whatsoever tel me what i should to

AWSOME worked perfect clicked make it rain and it did everything for me it took a while to reboot but jus be patient. all up it took bout 2 minutes. STOKED!
